“ I was just passing by Rawlins but I'd eat here again if I ever came by another time. The servers and the bartender were really sweet! I ordered the sirloin steak and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Their mac and cheese just a bit bland, but I love their garlic mashed potatos!! ”
“ Great service but the food was not good an poor quality. The brisket was fatty and lack the taste one would expect. ”
“ Just what we were looking for. A restaurant that has character, good food at a good price. I don't doubt the reviews about things taking too long. They looked short staffed, but they worked hard and kept up when we were there. Lots of folks complained about the sign and it's a joke, see my photos, however I had no problem finding the place. Inside it's old west and I love that the TVs were off. We spent 50 bucks for a brisket plate, 1/2 pound burger and a pulled pork sandwich all good. ”
“ The sign was so faded it was hard to find, but it shares the same building as The Peppermill. But don't let the sign fool you, this is great BBQ! We had the brisket sandwich and it was very tasty! The honey BBQ sauce was the best. Didn't care for the Memphis sauce, and didn't get to try the spicy sauce. Also had the chicken tenders and they were excellent also. Fries were hot and crispy. Finished with a brownie and vanilla ice cream and wow that was good! Couldn't finish it all. Savannah was our waitress and she was awesome! So friendly and helpful, and kept our drinks filled. Prices were very reasonable, especially for the quality! Best BBQ in town! ”
“ I stopped in at Cactus Jack's, hungry from the road. Wanted a Country fried steak!!! There was only a group of four and no greater. Walked through a door that had CACTUS JACKS on the open wall behind it, there was a waitress standing at a counter talking with another female. I said, "is this where I go to check in"; the waitress' responded with "this is a kitchen" no smile no offer to help. I walked back out to the dining room and found a table. Same waitress came and took my order, no smile, no chat. The food was excellent, probably the best country fried steak I've ever had and the mashed potatoes and gravy also deeeelicious. I would definitely go there again just for the food. They had a casino also on the other side of a glass wall from the restaurant that was full, but no noise. ”
